About Us

Our Story

We began as the South Seattle Mission in the early 1960’s. Holy Trinity Lutheran Church was officially organized in January 1964. The original A-frame church was constructed on the current property on 260th Street in Des Moines and dedicated in 1967. The church opened an elementary school in 1979. The current church and school building was dedicated in 2003. A Korean Lutheran church has been a partner on our campus since 2001. For over 60 years, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and School has served thousands of adults and children through its gospel ministry.

The name Holy Trinity is a confession of faith. God tells us in his Word who he is. God is the Father, from whom all things came; the Son, through whom we live because he died and rose again for us; and the Holy Spirit, who gives us the faith to say, “Jesus is Lord.” We believe in this 3-in-1 God (Trinity), and we are baptized into his name. God wants everyone to believe in him and have eternal life.

The triune God has sustained our congregation and blessed the preaching and teaching of his Word, creating faith and producing new life in many souls by his power and grace.

Holy Trinity is a member church of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), which has its headquarters in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
